In 2019, a pivotal moment for STEM education in Ethiopia was born out of a meeting between Honeywell’s CEO and President Sahle-Work Zewde of Ethiopia. During this defining conversation, President Sahle-Work urged Honeywell to empower Ethiopian girls through STEM education, and this vision became a reality through partnerships with organizations like iCog Labs. Under Yohannes Tilahun’s leadership, the initiative began with just five girls and has now reached over 2,200 students across Ethiopia.
